Last week I packed up my laptop, a few sketch pads, and a mountain of fabric ideas and drove to a little stone cabin in the Texas Hill Country. Just me. One room. My own mini creative retreat.

I watched a lot of Hallmark movies, took quiet walks, and finally had the space to let ideas spill out. By the end, I’d designed several new quilts that will make their debut next year. It was peaceful and exactly what I needed.

But here’s the thing—what I missed was the laughter with friends. The little “oohs” over fabric choices, the shared snacks, the stories that happen between stitches. That reminded me why I love what we do here at Threaded Lines: creativity together.

This season is busy. There are lists to finish, gifts to make, orders to ship. I know how hard it can be to step away. But taking even one day to sew and laugh with friends will do more for your spirit than checking another task off that list.

That’s exactly what this weekend’s Sleep-At-Home Retreat is about—giving yourself permission to rest, recharge, and create without the travel. Come for a day or both. Bring your projects, your machine, and your laughter. I’ll take care of the rest.
