Behind the Seams: It All Started With a Stitch
Every shop has a story.
Threaded Lines was never meant to be “just a quilt shop.” It was built stitch by stitch—on wild dreams, long nights, honest work, and a whole lot of coffee.
When I started this journey, I didn’t have a fancy plan. I had a vision:
- A space that felt modern but welcoming.
- A place for real quilters—messy WIPs, bold ideas, and all.
- A business rooted in originality, community, and kindness.
I didn’t get into this to compete. I got into it to create.
From the very beginning, Threaded Lines has done things a little differently. We’ve written our own patterns. Curated kits with soul. Turned classes into conversations. We’ve taken risks, made mistakes, and learned a lot along the way—but it’s always been real.
I remember when COVID had just started and my tiny, fledgling shop was still so small - I thought I would have to close. I had only been open maybe a year - tucked on the top floor of a medical building, and I cried and I cried.
But when I got a call: someone wanted 100 yards of fabric to make masks, and just like that I realized - I could be there for my community - I wasn't just running a quilt shop, I was part of something bigger.
No smoke. No mirrors. Just color, creativity, and connection.
And I’ll be honest—I’m not the flashiest personality. My personality is not big and I may not be one for small talk, but I show up with integrity. I put my heart into everything we make and every person who walks through the door. That’s what matters to me.
If you’ve ever been part of this shop—even just once—thank you. You’ve helped build something meaningful. And there’s so much more ahead.

From the moment I walked in, I felt such a warm welcome. I am sew excited about teaching classes and being a part of such a wonderful team!
This blog got me right in my “feelers” and had me sprinkle tears joy. I believe that in the moments of emergency necessity or emerging needs, the qualities of passion and compassion often embrace eachother to enovoke the blooming of “a creative purpose”
for someone. The factors of emergency or need can be made valuable by using it as inspiration, a creative force, to bring exceptional ideas to life of something significant and of importantance. When there is passion (heart) and compassion (soul) involved, one can almost garuntee that what is created will be worthful, apprectiated, desirable, and most often cherished.
Thanks for letting a man in your store. You helped me find fabrics that became my first quilt. It was a baby quilt with Moda Jungle prints and Allison Glass. I’ve come a long ways in my quilting. I even used a longarm to quilt the most recent group of quilts. Thanks again and best wishes for your business.
Loved this blog. I cannot always order from your shop but when I first came across it on line I just could feel that there was something special. You are not just a business. Yes you have integrity and honesty but what comes through is your care for others. We need MORE special businesses like yours. I may not be a good customer but I will allays be a customer. Hi Jen – my daughter and I visited your shop last month while shop hopping (after having driven past it most weekends at least twice on our way to our place in Huntsville!). When we entered, there was such a peace and welcoming vibe that neither of us wanted to leave…..you have something special and we will be back to see you next month!
