Experience the fun and scrappy world of quilting with the Selvedge Quilt Class! This unique course is sure to be a colorful fabric-filled journey as you learn to create dazzling quilts with strip piecing and selvedge fabric edges. Become a master of your craft as you stitch up something unique and special!

Date: Tuesdays - June 20th and July 11th 10:30 -2:30, this is a 2-day class

Cost: $60 for the class

Class Project: In this two-day class, students will create a selvage quilt top with their collection of selvages from home. No selvage collection? Bring your scraps, and you can follow the same steps as others. At the end of class, you will have a completed quilt top ready to be quilted. Each registrant will receive 10 selvages at the first class.

Required:  Sewing Machine and items on the supply list.

Supplies:

  • 3 yards, 100% cotton muslin for foundation blocks
  • 3 yards, 100% cotton background fabric of your choice
  • Fabric selvages or scraps/strips of various widths
  • Marking pen or pencil
  • Neutral thread for selvages
  • Rotary cutter
  • Cutting mat
  • 6” x 24” ruler
  • Scissors
  • Fabric glue
  • Pin cushion and pin
  • Seam ripper
  • Working sewing machine with foot pedal and cords


NOTES: The following items are optional:

  • Personal iron
  • Pressing surface
  • Scraps or men’s shirt strips can also be used.
